Sri Rama Navami · Ram Navami
Rama Navami celebrates the birth of Lord Rama, the seventh avatar of Lord Vishnu, in Ayodhya. Revered as the pinnacle of virtuous conduct, the day is marked by recitations of the Ramayana, temple rath yatras, and mid-day celebrations commemorating his divine birth.

According to the Valmiki Ramayana, King Dasharatha performed the sacred Putrakameshti Yajna under Sage Rishyashringa. The sacred payasam from the sacrificial fire was shared among queens Kausalya, Kaikeyi, and Sumitra; on Navami tithi during the Madhyahna (noon) hour, Lord Rama manifested to establish Dharma and vanquish the tyranny of Ravana.
Upholding moral integrity, duty above self-interest (Maryada), and unwavering commitment to truth (Satya).
At mid-day (Madhyahna), bells are rung and conches are blown to herald Rama's birth. An idol of infant Rama is bathed with Panchamrita, placed in an ornate cradle, and rocked amidst bhajans and chanting of the Rama Nama.
