Sacred month
Kartika
October – November
In depth
Kartika is the lamp-month of Vaishnava and universal merit. Pre-dawn baths, deep daan, tulsi worship, and Diwali’s constellation of days draw the year toward light. Devutthana Ekadashi ends Chaturmas as Vishnu rises from yoga-nidra.
Revered as the holiest month for Vaishnavism and general spiritual practice. Lighting lamps (Deep Daan), early morning holy baths (Kartik Snan), and charity yield immense merit.
