Introduction

Lord Kartikeya (also known as Murugan, Skanda, or Subramanya) is the elder son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Revered as the Commander-in-Chief of the celestial forces (Devasenapati), he embodies youth, martial valor, supreme wisdom, and righteous action.

Kartikeya represents spiritual knowledge (Jnana) forged into sharp, disciplined action. He signifies the destruction of ignorance, self-delusion, and spiritual lethargy through focused intellect.

Kartikeya carries the sacred Vel (spear), given to him by Goddess Parvati, which represents an intellect that is sharp, broad, and deep.

Using the Vel to vanquish the demon Surapadman, transforming the enemy's ego into a peacock (his vehicle) and a rooster (his battle flag), demonstrating transformation rather than mere destruction.
