Lord Shiva

Mahadeva: The Transcendental Ascetic, Cosmic Dancer, and Regenerator

Introduction

Lord Shiva is both the ultimate ascetic (Mahayogi) and the supreme regenerator within the Trimurti. He dissolves creation at the end of cycles to reset the universe into pure potentiality.

Shiva represents 'That which is not'—the vast, unmanifest void out of which all manifest matter emerges and into which it eventually dissolves.
