  • Perform ancestral rites, charity (*Daan*), and feeding of the poor, cows, or crows.
  • Observe a light sattvic diet or partial fast during the day.
  • Engage in meditation, quiet contemplation, and calming spiritual practices.

Restraint and alternatives

  • Avoid starting major new commercial ventures or auspicious ceremonies on this day, as energy is traditionally low.
  • Avoid consuming heavy, tamasic, or non-vegetarian foods.
  • Avoid negative emotions, grief, or disputes within the family.

Completion and reflection

Validated by completing ancestral tarpan/charity duties during the day, maintaining a pure diet, and offering evening prayers for lineage peace.
