Day 12

Dwadashi (Twelfth Day)

Dwadashi brings an energy of resolution and balancing. It is often noted for ancestral rites directed toward those who took sannyasa (renunciation) or led a detached, ascetic life in their final years.

Special remembrance

Ascetics, renunciates, or elders who lived detached lives devoted to charity and higher knowledge.

Ekadashi to Sarvapitri Amavasya (Mahalaya)

Namaste. Welcome to the final and most powerful leg of Pitru Paksha—spanning from Ekadashi to Sarvapitri Amavasya, also known as Mahalaya. As a family priest, I always tell people that these concluding days hold immense spiritual weight. Whether someone passed away under sudden circumstances, on an unknown date, or during full/new moon junctions, these final days ensure every single soul in our ancestral lineage receives peace, water, and nourishment. Let us look closely at these final days, complete with their sacred Sanskrit mantras and transliterations.
