शुभं करोति कल्याणमारोग्यं धनसम्पदः । शत्रुबुद्धिविनाशाय दीपज्योतिर्नमोऽस्तु ते ॥

Śubhaṃ Karoti Kalyāṇam Ārogyaṃ Dhana-Sampadaḥ | Śatru-Buddhi-Vināśāya Dīpa-Jyotir Namo'stu Te ||

Simple meaning

The light of the lamp brings auspiciousness, well-being, vibrant health, and true abundance. Salutations to the flame that dissolves harmful, negative, and self-defeating thoughts.

When lighting an evening lamp or studying, the child is reminded that light banishes darkness just as positive, kind thoughts burn away feelings of jealousy, anger, and self-doubt (our real 'inner enemies').
