Morning Awakening, Daily Grounding & Gratitude
Karadarshanam (Looking at One's Palms upon Waking)
कराग्रे वसते लक्ष्मीः करमध्ये सरस्वती । करमूले तु गोविन्दः प्रभाते करदर्शनम् ॥
Karāgre Vasate Lakṣmīḥ Karamadhye Sarasvatī | Karamūle Tu Govindaḥ Prabhāte Karadarśanam ||
Simple meaning
At the fingertips resides Goddess Lakshmi; in the center of the palm dwells Goddess Saraswati; at the base of the hand resides Lord Govinda. Therefore, in the morning, one should look at one's own palms.
For kids
Before grabbing a phone or tablet in the morning, children look at their hands and realize: 'My hands have the power to create abundance (Lakshmi), learn and make art (Saraswati), and protect and help others (Govinda). My destiny is in my own hands.'
Big idea
Personal agency, positive self-worth, and anti-screen morning habit.
