Is a South-facing house always inauspicious or unlucky?
A Widespread Misconception
Ancient Shastras never condemn South-facing homes universally. When the main entrance is positioned precisely in Pada S3 (Vitatha) or Pada S4 (Gruhakshata), it produces extraordinary fame, wealth, high administrative positions, and commercial dominance (often seen in the homes of leading industrialists, defense leaders, and politicians). Problems only arise when the door is in negative padas like S1 or S5.
If a South door is situated in a negative pada, install a 3mm copper strip or brass threshold plate flush into the floor across the doorway.
Can a mirror be placed facing the main entrance door?
Strictly Prohibited
Placing a mirror directly opposite the open front door reflects all incoming Prana and positive environmental energy right back out of the house, resulting in missed opportunities and financial stagnation.
Move the mirror to an adjacent wall (facing East or North) so it reflects internal abundance instead of the exterior doorway.
What should be placed above the main door for protection?
Sacred Symbols of Metal and Wood
Affixing a brass or copper Swastika, Om, or Trishul above the lintel blesses incoming energy. An auspicious nameplate made of seasoned teak wood or brass elevates domestic prestige.
Ensure the entrance is brightly illuminated with warm golden light (2700K-3000K).
