Theological significance
Revered as one of the four original Adi Shakti Peethas (along with Kamakhya, Kalighat, and Vimala). The breasts of Goddess Sati fell upon the Kumari Hills. Worshipped as twin manifestations of Shakti—Tara representing transcendental wisdom and Tarini representing the savior who carries devotees across the sea of worldly illusion.
