Theological significance
Guhyeshwari derives its name from 'Guhya' (secret) and 'Ishwari' (Goddess). It marks the place where Sati's knees or secret organ fell. It is considered the spiritual power source (Shakti) that complements the cosmic consciousness of Lord Pashupatinath located just 1 km away.
