The eleventh lunar day in each paksha is Vishnu’s special vow day. Fasting from grains and beans lightens the body so the mind can rest in nama and remembrance. Famous Ekadashis punctuate the year with distinct moods—from Nirjala’s austerity to Vaikuntha’s gates.

Sacred day dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Devotees fast (avoiding grains and beans) to cleanse the body, refine consciousness, and deepen devotion.
