Step-by-step procedure

Step 1

Yellow Theme Setup & Instrument Blessing

Shastri Ji says: Wear yellow clothes. Cover the altar with a yellow cloth. Place Goddess Saraswati and keep books, notebooks, pens, and musical instruments near Her feet.

Step 2

Chandan Tilak & Yellow Flower Offering

Apply White Sandalwood and Roli Tilak to Goddess Saraswati. Place a Chandan Tilak on your books and pens. Offer marigold or yellow mustard flowers.

या कुन्देन्दुतुषारहारधवला या शुभ्रवस्त्रावृता।या वीणावरदण्डमण्डितकरा या श्वेतपद्मासना॥

Step 3

Yellow Bhog Offering

Offer saffron sweet yellow rice (Meethe Chawal), Rajbhog, or yellow Boondi Laddoos as Bhog along with fresh water.

ॐ वाग्देव्यै च विद्महे कामराजाय धीमहि तन्नो देवी प्रचोदयात्।

Step 4

Saraswati Vandana & Study Initiation

Recite 'Yaa Kundendu Tushara Hara Dhavalaa' Vandana. Students should write 'Om' or 'Aim' with a pen on paper to mark the holy start of learning.

सरस्वति नमस्तुभ्यं वरदे कामरूपिणि।विद्यारम्भं करिष्यामि सिद्धिर्भवतु मे सदा॥
