Mirabai grew up hearing stories of Krishna and expressing her devotion through poetry and song. As an adult, people around her expected her to remain silent and follow every social custom without question. Mira respectfully refused to hide the devotion that gave her life meaning. She sang in the language ordinary people understood and treated devotion as something open to everyone, not only to the powerful or highly educated. Her path was difficult, but her songs continued to carry courage and love across generations. Mira's story shows that a gentle voice can still be brave when it speaks honestly and refuses to belittle others.
