Muktinath Temple
Lord Vishnu (Mukti Narayana - Manifested as a gold-cast idol)
Spiritual philosophy
Revered as 'Mukti Kshetra'—the place of spiritual liberation. It is one of the 108 Divya Desams of Lord Vishnu and holds unique harmony between Hinduism and Buddhism. It is believed that visiting Muktinath frees a soul from the karmic cycle of rebirth.
Architecture & structure
High-Altitude Himalayan Pagoda Architecture
Situated at an altitude of 3,800 meters (12,467 ft) in the Thorong La mountain pass region. Features a small pagoda-style temple surrounded by 108 bull-faced bronze water spouts (*Mukti Dhara*) fed by ice-cold natural mountain springs, and natural gas fires burning over water at the nearby Jwala Mai temple.

What to go for
Running through the 108 ice-cold water spouts for spiritual purification, taking a dip in the two sacred holy ponds (*Punya Kunda*), collecting natural Shaligram stones from the Kali Gandaki riverbed, and enjoying panoramic views of the Annapurna mountain range.

- Shraddha and Tarpana for departed ancestors at the Gandaki riverbanks

Dress code & guidelines
Warm high-altitude thermal clothing and waterproof trekking gear. For the 108 spouts bath, visitors carry a change of dry modest clothes (Towel, change of Kurta/Tracksuit). Modest respectful attire inside the temple sanctum.
