Friday is dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi, the deity of wealth, prosperity, harmony, and grace. Performing evening Lakshmi worship invites abundance and positive energy into the household.
Lakshmi Puja Samagri
- Picture or Idol of Goddess Lakshmi
- Cow Ghee Diya
- Roli, Kumkum, and Lotus/Pink flowers
- Kheer (Rice Pudding) or White Sweets/Batasha
- Silver coins or turmeric roots (Haldi Ganth)
Step-by-step procedure
Step 1
Evening Setup & Diya Prajvalan
Shastri Ji says: Perform this worship in the evening twilight. Clean the altar, light a pure cow Ghee lamp, and place a silver coin or turmeric root near Goddess Lakshmi.
ॐ श्रीं महालक्ष्म्यै नमः
Step 2
Kumkum & Flower Offering
Apply fresh Kumkum to Goddess Lakshmi and offer Lotus or pink flowers. Apply Kumkum tilak to the coin/turmeric root as well.
नमस्तेस्तु महामाये श्रीपीठे सुरपूजिते ।शङ्खचक्रगदाहस्ते महालक्ष्मि नमोस्तु ते ॥
Step 3
Kheer/White Bhog Offering
Offer freshly prepared rice Kheer, white sweets, or Batasha as Bhog along with clean drinking water.
ॐ महालक्ष्म्यै च विद्महे विष्णुप्रियायै च धीमहि तन्नो लक्ष्मीः प्रचोदयात्
Step 4
Lakshmi Aarti
Perform Goddess Lakshmi Aarti with devotion, praying for household harmony, abundance, and peace.
