A hungry jackal slipped into a village looking for food, accidentally tumbled headfirst into a massive open vat of bright blue indigo dye, and managed to scramble out covered entirely in brilliant blue from head to tail. When he stumbled back into the jungle, the lions, tigers, and leopards stared in awe at his strange color, thinking he was a magical celestial king sent to rule over them. The foolish jackal let power go to his head, demanding royal treatment and banishing his own fellow jackals from his court. But one evening, during a full moon, a pack of jackals in the distance started howling their familiar howl. Forgetful of his disguise, the blue jackal threw back his head and instinctively began howling right along with them! The jungle animals instantly realized he was just an ordinary jackal in a cheap disguise and chased him away.
